Empower yourself with IM

Shift from IMPOSSIBLE to I'm Possible.
Shift from IMPOSSIBLE to I’m Possible.

My job as a Hope Dealer is to challenge your thinking and help equip you to be empowered. Here’s the catch (yes, there’s a catch). You have to want to be empowered. In my daily conversations, I’m reminded how many people feel underserving and hopeless. I used to be one of them.

People see me sharing hope, health, abundance and love. They see me smile and hear my positivity. What they don’t see are all the naysayers, negativity and adversity tormenting and sneering from the sidelines, “You can’t. You won’t. You’ll fail. Stop trying.

In January 2019, Jonathan and I were blessed to glean live from Jim Dethmer, co-author of the bestselling book, “The 15 Commitments of Conscious Leadership”. Jim posed the life transforming question, “What’s the most important relationship in your life?”

The answer? Your thoughts.

Many of you are currently facing a situation that feels impossible. Your marriage, your job, your living situation, your finances, your health, your gumption to dream. Perhaps you’re listening to your naysayers and have yourself convinced it IS impossible.

I challenge you to move the ‘IM’ from your, ‘POSSIBLE’.

Don’t move it far, though.
Just rearrange it.

Like when Robin Williams’ character Mr. Keating challenged his students in the 1989 movie, Dead Poets Society to climb on their desks and look at life from a different perspective, I now challenge you to empower yourself with your IM.

Rather than IMPOSSIBLE, let’s embrace, “I’m Possible!”

A simple rearrange with a profound twist. Isn’t that what life is really about? Rearranging your thoughts, your concepts, your vision? Continually evolving.

Happiness is a choice.
Hope is a choice.
Life is a decision.

Even though you don’t get to choose everything that happens to you, you always get to choose how you respond.

Later in Dead Poets Society when Mr. Keating had been relieved of his teaching duties and another professor steps in, the students choose to respond by paying homage to their mentor. They stand on their desks declaring, “O Captain, my Captain!” I still get choked up every time I watch the poignant scene.

Their new professor admonishes, “How dare you?”

I LOVE that they dared.

“Sit down!” they were ordered. But one by one, they defiantly stood, claiming the life they deserve. You can see the thoughts flashing through their minds, seeking what they really want, outlaying who they really are. What a defining moment.

Not every one stood though, right?

Life is a decision. Each of us has a choice. Do you want to be one who stands up and dares to start dreaming again? Even in the face of fear and doubt and the threat of expulsion?

I’ll tell you what I’m doing. I’m choosing, “I’m Possible” and I invite you to join me. Ready?

Undeserving and hopeless are great ways to describe the feelings when things seem impossible for change. I love your comment to “just rearrange” the word impossible to “I’m possible.” Hope reignited. Thank you for sharing your heart!

How easy it is for “me” to be lost in the midst of my life…..where do I place my value? In me as mom? A wife? A homemaker? A nurse? A friend? Sometimes we lose ourselves in those things and forget that we exist as a separate person. This past year has been a journey for me to find myself again. I’m possible…..and so is everyone. Don’t lose yourself!! Thank you, Donna, for being YOU and for sharing hope with the world. Love you so much!❤️

    • Donna Racette says:

Yes, Jules… never lose yourself. Love that. What a blessing to be discovering yourself and evolving into all you were designed to be. Yes, those labels you mentioned and covering them all, unique, beautiful You. Love you, too. Thank you for sharing your heart.

      Love,
      Donna
