Mission accomplished: 62 comments about how special my mom is
For my Mom’s special birthday, I set out to truly touch her heart (read: I wanted to make her cry!) A good, healthy, pure cry. You know… a cleansing cry that comes from the soul because you feel so loved and cherished. There’s no one I can think of who deserves it more.
Step one: flowers. Step two: happy birthday phone call. Step three: engaging her friends and family in a love note extravaganza. The results were overwhelming. In a nutshell… mission accomplished. (And for those of you expecting a post about Osama bin Laden, sorry… not here!)
Following is the comment my Mom just posted on her birthday tribute blog post, in response to the amazing 59 of you, who shared your hearts with her… in the span of a mere 24 hours. I’m so grateful – and so is she.
“Yesterday, May 3, (which is my birthday) my daughter Donna arranged for 59 wonderful people to post birthday wishes for me. You all have no idea how overwhelmed I have been. So many family members and friends posted the most touching messages. I have been in tears of joy as I remember each of you. How can I ever thank each and every one of you for being such a vital part of my life. Many messages were people from many years in my past and many were from people that I have met in the last few years. Thank you so much for loving me sooooooo much.” — Elaine (Kokoski) Racette
